Mission Minded...
Weekend

My weekend definitely ended wayyyyy better than it started!! :)

Sunday School

I had a “wow” moment in Sunday school this morning. So I thought I’d share…

The passage was 1 Peter 2:9-12.

Heres what really hit home with me. :)

If I want to grow and build my relationship/walk with God then I should be walking, praying, and reading and studying the Bible daily. Not just on Sundays and Wednesdays. I need to really invest and make an effort. If I do that then my focus should shift from myself to Christ and following Him. I should be giving Christ all my heart, soul, and strength (Deuteronomy 6:5), not just 5 minutes before I go to bed each night. I need to try to focus on Him throughout the day every day. I need to be “an active participant in my walk with Christ”.

Surprise

I totally surprised Frankie today!! He was completely shocked when he saw me standing by his car after school! :P

Granny

My Granny is having surgery this morning. Prayer would be greatly appreciated!!

Texas

I love listening to my family exchange stories… They are sooo funny :P

But I miss my family and friends…

Life…

So I never really wanted to start one of my classes until I had to before… But right now I wish I could start my English with FLVS already. Then I could just do that all day and maybe I wouldn’t be bored all day…

I should be going to get my thumb x-rayed later, I hope they find the reason that it still hurts and that its nothing major…

Doctors

I dont really like going to the doctors… However I have a doctors appointment tomorrow for my thumb. I probably should have gone already but I am a pro at procrastinating. But I know it’ll be ok, I just hope that nothing major is wrong with my thumb… :P

I Enjoy…

My late night phone calls that last into the night and get real interesting the later it gets… :P

Worship

I was asked a while back if I would do “worship” one Sunday night. I said yes then I put it off and procrastinated about it. Now, after a few months I am finally working towards really getting ready for it. I have my songs, scriptures, and stuff ready. I just have to get comfortable playing the songs on my guitar now.

Then of course you have the singing part of it…

Colossians 1:13-23

So last Wednesday we were challenged/told to read Colossians 1:13-23 (it was either 18-23 or 13-23 so I just did 13-23) and then put it in our own words. So I thought that I would share it on here. Hope you like it :)

Colossians 1:13-23

Picture the deepest, darkest, dampest, hole possible and us at the bottom of it. That is us stuck in our sin (wickedness) with absolutely no possible way out. We are pretty much doomed right? Well Jesus died for our sins and rescued us from our inescapable hole of sin saving us from being doomed for life. Ok now that we are out of our hole of doom.  We can understand that Jesus is God’s son and that they have a purpose for everything that happens. Even if we may not understand what that purpose is. Now Jesus had everything started in Him. Whether you can see it or not, or if you think it’s important or not. It all started in Jesus. Not only was everything started in Jesus but it found its purpose in Him. Jesus was here before the Earth or even better the Universe was made. Before God thought about making the Earth and Universe. Also Jesus holds it all together. He is the super glue of the Universe. Also, when it comes to the Church (the people who follow Jesus) Jesus holds them altogether too. He is the head of the body.  Now Jesus was supreme then and is still supreme day and He always will be!  Every broken, torn, and dislocated person, animal, molecule, and everything in the Universe can and will get properly fixed by Jesus because of the fact that He died on a cross for our sins even though He was sinless. See at one time we all had our backs turned to Jesus and didn’t really care about Him and what He did for us. But once we finally realize that Jesus died so we wouldn’t have to suffer in hell forever Jesus brings us over to the good side. Then we start developing our faith and trust in Jesus and studying Gods word and learning from Him. Now we have to be careful not to fall back into our hopeless pit of inescapableness.
